Digital citizens and their addiction by comunication and information technology

Institute of International Center for Media & the Public Agenda (ICMPA) on University of Maryland has made a researche on thousand of students that didint reach the 25 year of age and from ten diferend countries: USA, Chile, Chin, Hong Kong, Slovakia, Mexico, Uganda and Liban. People were asked for a time of one day to not use any of the communicational-informational devices. Then they asked them to write their observations and feelings about it.
Unfortinatly a big part of the people couldn't stand to not use those things. Scientists discovered that those people can’t live without cell phone, laptop and mp3 player. They discribed their feelings as annoyed, nervous, not calm, and not to find a place for their selves. The test has shown a total addiction of this generation for this kind of devices with a large pointing on cell phones. Even when the people were from five deferent continents all people Has shown the same addiction that says that they are a Digital citizens “It started dawning on to us that such a citizenship doesn't have the passport: when we covered the place in the questionnaire form with the name of the country of origin, reading very commentary it wasn't possible to guess, what nationality is feeling examined” - the boss of the project is writing, professor of the journalism and the social policy on University of Maryland i dyrektor ICMPA, Susan D. Moeller. Examinations pointed that current young people, given birth and growing up amongst digital technologies, what step doesn't notice media in dominated their everyday life, being in their element in this digital world. Media are facilitating their everyday duties, the way to acquire the information and the place of the contact with friends for them and. In the moment disconnecting "of them from the technology, felt lost and devoid of the sense of security. Young people from the entire world will admit that they will depend on the digital technology. Even momentary cutting off from the cell or the computer causes that they are feeling restless and impatient.
